Ally and Ducky got a new DVD with Disney sing-a-long songs. Up until this point Ally always associated me with Ariel, the Little Mermaid. It made sense. Aside from the giant fish tail, we both have the same body type. Especially when she becomes human. She has red hair. I have red hair. To a three year old we are practically identical.
Now she thinks I am Belle. I didn’t see the connection at first. I don’t look anything like her. At least not in the obvious little-kid-would-notice kind of way. So I was puzzled. I didn’t realize that she made other connection that far surpass immediate physical properties. She hears things. Sees things. Realizes things. I didn’t pay too much attention, but today I sat with her and actually watched the song. I might superficially resemble Ariel, but as far as Disney princesses are concerned, I am Belle.

Wordless Wednesday

Munchie’s birthday started the night before with friends at a restaurant.
We had a Princess and the Frog theme… I made appropriate cupcakes.
Sitting on Grandma’s lap. She looks content. Poor Ducky got cut out of the picture.

My little Princess.

She did not like us singing “Happy Birthday.” I can’t really blame her. If any of you have ever heard me sing, you would understand. And you would be doing the same thing.
